Far less understood than either of its respected compatriots, Vacheron Constantin has a legacy of producing some of the very finest haute horlogerie complications in history — and some of the loveliest.

Sports watches came later to VC, as pressure from the new “luxury sport watch” category introduced in the early 1970s forced the storied maison to evolve. Its entry came in the form of the 222, whose design language inspired the current Overseas collection. The Overseas models compete with other watches such as the Patek Philippe Nautilus, Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, IWC Ingenieur, and Piaget Polo, and often find favor by merit of design, value, and variety of complications.

This particular Overseas, a full set, is one of the finest wristwatches of the last few years — full stop. A brilliant version of the Perpetual Calendar in pink gold, it’s the type of timepiece that completely halts you in your tracks. And when you have it on-wrist, needless to say, you can hardly believe it’s real!

Housed in a 41.5mm pink gold case measuring just 8.1mm thick with a signed crown, a stylized bezel that pulls from the design of the Maltese cross, and a sapphire crystal, it features an unbelievable deep blue dial with full perpetual calendar & moonphase functionality — accurate until the year 2100 — complemented by a luminous outer minute track and a matching, luminous handset. 

Powered by the automatic, in-house Vacheron Constantin Calibre 1120 QP movement with 40 hours of power reserve, it comes with a blue rubber strap and an accompanying blue alligator leather strap with rose gold pin buckle. 

Flip over the case to reveal a sapphire caseback, through which can be viewed the 22-carat gold oscillating weight — inspired by the Maltese Cross, a signature of Vacheron’s — of the in-house movement. And if the movement doesn’t blow your socks off, then the heft of the gold definitely will!

Few manufactures can claim a lineage as long or as rich as Vacheron Constantin. Established in 1755, the manufacture soon made a reputation for the elegance of its products, by making pocket watches with complicated movements and engine-turned dials. Even today, these are marks of a manufacturer’s expertise, due to the skill and precision involved in crafting them, so for Vacheron Constantin to have achieved this in the eighteenth century is quite an impressive feat.

This expertise carried them through the 19th century, earning gold medals at National Exhibitions and blazing trails in the area of anti-magnetic timepieces. The 20th century saw further achievements, such as the opening of its boutique on the Quai de L’Ile in Geneva, where it still resides today. Even through the Depression and the Second World War, when many watch companies were forced to band together with competitors or else face closure, the manufacture continued to thrive—as it does to this day.

Most of our products are on hand and will ship directly from our headquarters in New York City. In some cases, watches will be shipped directly from one of our authorized partners.

We generally ship our products via FedEx, fully insured, within 5 business days of purchase. An adult signature is required for receipt of all packages for insurance purposes. Expedited shipping is available at an additional cost. We are also happy to hand deliver your purchase in Manhattan or you may pick it up at our showroom.

Returns must be sent overnight or by priority international delivery, fully insured and paid for by the customer. A restocking fee may apply. Watches must be returned in the same condition as initially shipped.
