Our love for rare and beautiful objects isn't limited to those of the horological variety! In addition to our perpetual treasure hunt for great watches, we cast a wider net into the world of vintage objects, a practice that, since our founding, has yielded a trove of finds we happily share during the holiday season each year.
From vintage clocks to pocket knives, lighters to diving instrumentation, old-world ashtrays to desk sculptures — these are the types of mementos that heavily tug on our nostalgic heart strings and further sate our impulse for preservation and storytelling.
Unfortunately we can't keep them all...
This special piece is a Heuer Monte Carlo Decimal Dash Timer retailed by Abercrombie & Fitch Co., dating back to the 1960s. The stainless steel case measures 55mm and features a bidirectional friction bezel, an acrylic crystal and a large knurled winding crown with a screwdown pusher positioned to the left and a traditional pump pusher to the right.
The matte black dial is home to an inner minutes and seconds track with ‘Arabic’ indices, a jump-hour aperture at 6 o’clock and an arrow minute counter hand. The dial has a rich orange patina throughout, and is home to a double signature, signed by the maker as well as with ‘Abercrombie & Fitch Co.’ branding directly beneath. The timer is mounted on a steel plaque measuring approximately 2 1/2“ x 2 1/2“ that is signed with ‘Ed Heuer & Co. Swiss'. It also comes complete with its original box and instruction manual.
Even if you don’t intend to mount this handsome timepiece to the dashboard of your car, it’s guaranteed to look fantastic sitting on the desk in your office, or on a bookshelf.
Analog:Shift stands behind the authenticity of our products in perpetuity.
