Generally less understood than its more trendy compatriots, Vacheron Constantin has a legacy of producing some of the finest high horology complications in history - and some of the loveliest.

Some vintage watches demand attention; this one rewards it. This mid-century Vacheron Constantin hits that elusive balance between simplicity and personality—refined in form, yet distinctive in all the ways that matter. The key, of course, is the case design: sculptural 'bull horn'  lugs that sweep outward with a soft, architectural confidence. They give the watch presence without pretense—just enough flair to register, never enough to overwhelm.

The 18K yellow gold case measures 35mm in diameter and approximately 45mm lug-to-lug, a size that feels remarkably current on the wrist. The case has remained in excellent condition, with surfaces that haven’t been chased or over-polished, and a crisp gold hallmark still visible on one lug—a detail collectors always appreciate.

The dial has developed a warm, even speckled patina over time—subtle, organic, and impossible to replicate. The raised printed signature remains wonderfully intact, catching just a hint of light like a whisper of enamel work from another era. Inside, the hand-wound movement winds with that precise Vacheron click and keeps time smoothly. The watch is paired with a brown alligator strap and finished with a gold plated pin buckle, completing the picture without disrupting the story.

This is vintage elegance at its most persuasive: a watch that doesn’t try to impress—because it doesn’t have to. It simply is timeless.

Few manufactures can claim a lineage as long or as rich as Vacheron Constantin. Established in 1755, the manufacture soon made a reputation for the elegance of its products, by making pocket watches with complicated movements and engine-turned dials. Even today, these are marks of a manufacturer’s expertise, due to the skill and precision involved in crafting them, so for Vacheron Constantin to have achieved this in the eighteenth century is quite an impressive feat.

This expertise carried them through the 19th century, earning gold medals at National Exhibitions and blazing trails in the area of anti-magnetic timepieces. The 20th century saw further achievements, such as the opening of its boutique on the Quai de L’Ile in Geneva, where it still resides today. Even through the Depression and the Second World War, when many watch companies were forced to band together with competitors or else face closure, the manufacture continued to thrive—as it does to this day.

We generally ship our products via FedEx, fully insured, within 5 business days of purchase. An adult signature is required for receipt of all packages for insurance purposes. Expedited shipping is available at an additional cost. We are also happy to hand deliver your purchase in Manhattan or you may pick it up at our showroom.

Returns must be sent overnight or by priority international delivery, fully insured and paid for by the customer. A restocking fee may apply. Watches must be returned in the same condition as initially shipped.
