Why We Love it
–The Nautilus is without question one of the great horological icons of the 1970s, and one of the most in-demand timepiece models on the planet.
Collectors and prospectors alike are clamoring to get their hands on Genta's second great luxury sports watch, and with the recent news of the discontinuation of the flagship reference 5711 in steel, this dramatic rise in popularity shows no signs of slowing down.
The particular Nautilus that we have here, a Reference 3701/1A, dated to circa 2005 and comes in at the same 42mm steel construction as the classic 'Jumbo', with a few small differences. Within the case, it features a luminous matte black dial with applued white gold 'Roman' indices with a hands power reserve indicator at the 12:00 position, a matching handset with a central seconds hand, a signed crown, and Patek Philippe's Calibre 330 SC IZR automatic winding movement with power reserve.
The Nautilus has become a true piece of horological history; an icon of icons; and must be experienced to be understood!

Brand Story
+Founded in 1839, Patek Philippe is one of the oldest watch manufacturers in the world with an uninterrupted watchmaking history. Few luxury brands in the world carry the gravitas of their name, and for good reason. The firm's commitment to excellence in horological manufacture is unflinching, and their track record of innovation in design without peer. They continue to lead the industry, and even their fiercest competitors have nothing but the utmost respect for the company.
Owning a Patek Philippe is for many the ultimate goal of timepiece collecting, and for a certain type, the only timepieces they collect. Whichever way you look at it, there is no questioning the elegance of design, superlative manufacture of their cases and movements, or the sheer elegance and emotion that comes from owning one.
Of course for a brand that is steeped in heritage, we are told ‘You never actually own a Patek Philippe…”
Well, you know the rest.
