Why We Love it
–Parmigiani Fleurier is a relatively young brand that has succeeded beyond its years of watchmaking.
Founded by master restorer Michel Parmigiani in 1996, PF's pieces draw inspiration from Michel's wealth of knowledge from his experience reviving important timepieces from brands such as Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, and Breguet. Coupled with his horological experience in traditional watchmaking and an enduring passion for architectural design, Michel Parmigiani has earned a seat at a table reserved only for haute horologie.
Defined by a particular design language, the Toric, Kalpa and Ionica have formed the foundation of their current catalog. The Tonda however, is stylistically the most reserved and arguably the most elegant of the bunch, especially when you observe the Tonda 1950.
This piece, a Reference PFC267-3000600, features a polished, 39mm titanium case with 'teardrop' lugs, a polished bezel, a sapphire crystal, and a signed crown. At just 8mm in case thickness, paired with its lightweight construction, this piece is an absolute dream on the wrist.
Featuring a luminous 'alpha' handset, applied polished indices, and a constant seconds display set against a striking, blue meteorite stone, this dial displays a dynamic fragment pattern with each streak and cross section adding a unique layer of depth.
Powered by a self-winding Calibre PF701 movement finished with Geneva stripes and an engine-turned micro-rotor, thankfully visible by a sapphire exhibition caseback, this piece is paired to a black, Hermes alligator leather strap made for Parmigiani Fleurier with a signed, matching titanium pin buckle. What's more, this piece comes with all of its factory goodies!
Have you been exploring the market for an everyday dress watch that doesn't stick to the traditional mold?
You should dive into the Abyss!
