Why We Love it

Our love of Speedmasters is pretty apparent we'd say - with lengthy descriptions and stories recounting the tales of the original rocket men and their magnificent machines regularly gracing these electronic pages.

While we are generally describing Speedies from the Apollo era, we absolutely have an appreciation for their modern counterparts and maintain that buying a brand new model is far from the worst way to spend your hard-earned money!  Indeed, we have steered many a friend in the direction of a contemporary Speedy when the situation calls for it - and let's face it, there are occasions in which wearing something newer and capable of taking a bit of a beating is desirable.  Hell, even NASA thinks so....

Our preferences generally run to the old and the aged, but when the situation calls for something modern, a contemporary Speedmaster is always a good choice. And for those looking for something a bit more dressy than the traditional Moon Watch, there is a Speedmaster to suit! Referred to by collectors as the Speedmaster "Reduced", these models size in a few millimeters smaller than the Professional models at 39mm, resulting in a more svelte profile.  Also ideal for smaller wrists, these models feature a Calibre 1140 automatic movement, coupled with all of the hallmark design elements and proportions you'd expect from the Speedmaster line.

This particular example, a Reference 3810W, is a bit of an oddball - we admit it!  Housed in a Two-Tone steel and 18K gold case, it is finished with a white dial with gold hands and markers, giving it a distinctive look quite a bit different than you're used to seeing in the Speedmaster pantheon. In completely unworn, New Old Stock (NOS) condition, this watch even has its original factory sticker still in place on the case back and comes with its inner and outer boxes and original warranty booklet.

If you've been considering a Speedmaster but are seeking something a little different, you've found it - and in perfect time-capsule condition at that!
