Why We Love it

The Constellation was once Omega’s flagship model. A contemporary of the Speedmaster Professional, Seamaster 300, Railmaster and DeVille, the 'Connie' was top dog.

Over the years Omega produced many different Constellatios in a wide variety of case shapes and dials. The changing design language of the 1970s resulted in a limited run of references housed in blocky cushion cases with integrated bracelets, a departure from their more traditional dressy and lithe designs. It also resulted, in 1974, in a special Marine Chronometer version of the Connie with a high-beat 'Megaquartz' movement that ticked at 2.5 MHz, or 2,400,000 Hz. Pretty wild stuff!

This particualar Constellation Marine Chronometer Megaquartz is housed in a 49mm tall x 32.5mm wide rectangular stainless steel case with an integrated bracelet, a 14K gold bezel and serial number plaque, an acrylic crystal, and a signed crown. The dial is unlike that of any other Omega you're likely to see: Framed by a black acrylic inner bezel, it features a matte black background, an outer white minute track, white 'dash' indices, a date window at 6 o'clock, and a luminous white 'baton' handset.

Powering this unique watch is Omega's Calibre 1500-series Megaquartz movement, a staggeringly precisely engine accurate to something like one second per thousand years. While the movement's insanely high beat rate means less battery efficiency than a modern quartz watch, its technology is nevertheless wildly impressive for the 1970s...and even for today.

We generally ship our products via FedEx, fully insured, within 5 business days of purchase. An adult signature is required for receipt of all packages for insurance purposes. Expedited shipping is available at an additional cost. We are also happy to hand deliver your purchase in Manhattan or you may pick it up at our showroom.

Returns must be sent overnight or by priority international delivery, fully insured and paid for by the customer. A restocking fee may apply. Watches must be returned in the same condition as initially shipped.
