Montblanc Heritage Automatic

You might know Montblanc as a pen-maker, but that’s not the entire story.

World famous for its writing instruments and leather goods, Montblanc began making watches in 1997. In 2006 Richemont — Montblanc’s parents company — purchased the historical Minerva manufacture, which Montblanc then took over in order to profit from its horological expertise. Since then, the maison has been churning out some of the finest modern timepieces available.

This particular Montblanc watch is a Heritage Automatic. Dating to circa 2019, it features a 40mm stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal, a signed crown, a polished bezel, and a striking, textured and sunburst salmon dial with a matching dauphine handset. Paired to a grey Montblanc alligator strap with a signed pin buckle, it’s powered by the automatic Cal. MB 24.26 with 38 hours of power reserve.

Well-proportioned, handsome and unique, this Heritage Automatic is in good overall condition and comes with much of its ephemera. For the money, there are very, very few watches that come even close to what Montblanc has done with this model.

Don’t think twice!

Perhaps you think of Montblanc primarily as a pen manufacturer, or as a purveyor of fine leather goods. And that’s a fair characterization — but it’s incomplete.

Montblanc has been crafting luxury watches in Switzerland since 1997, but it was the 2006 acquisition of Villeret-based Minerva that catapulted the firm into horological fame. Founded in 1858, Minerva made some of the finest complicated watches in the world throughout the 20th century, and Montblanc — beneath parent company the Richemont Group — promptly took advantage of its savoir-faire to begin designing some of the 21st century’s best chronographs, calendar watches, and more.

From simple, time-only dress watches such as the Heritage Automatic to wildly innovative travel complications such as the 1858 Geosphere, Montblanc continues to dazzle with its value-packed, creative offerings that span materials, design and price. Indeed, anyone looking for a well-made, beautifully crafted timepiece that honors the past without drawing too heavily upon time-worn tropes owes it to themselves to invest in a Montblanc.

Most of our products are on hand and will ship directly from our headquarters in New York City. In some cases, watches will be shipped directly from one of our authorized partners.

We generally ship our products via FedEx, fully insured, within 5 business days of purchase. An adult signature is required for receipt of all packages for insurance purposes. Expedited shipping is available at an additional cost. We are also happy to hand deliver your purchase in Manhattan or you may pick it up at our showroom.

Returns must be sent overnight or by priority international delivery, fully insured and paid for by the customer. A restocking fee may apply. Watches must be returned in the same condition as initially shipped.
