–The Bourbon Is Jim Beam
James Bond is a man of refined taste. Between his Aston Martin DB5, Rolex 'Big Crown' Submariner and an array of high-tech spy gadgets, Bond would accept only the best.
The fictional British secret agent, otherwise known as 007, has been portrayed by seven different actors over the course of 60 years and we can't think of a more iconic James Bond than the gentleman who first played him in the 1962 film, Dr. No — Sean Connery.
Between 1962 and 1983, Connery became a Hollywood icon playing 007 and arguably redefined the action-movie genre's leading man. From the memorable underwater fight scene in in Thunderball and the final battle scene at Blofeld’s lair in You only Live Twice, to any one of the famous car chase scenes, more specifically, those in Goldfinger where Connery drives his DB5 hard, fast and utilizes a variety of the car's gadget-based trickery.
This Jim Beam ad dates back to 1965 and features Sean Connery at the height of the James Bond craze. Very much in line with the James Bond aesthetic, Connery is portrayed handsomely in all black attire, confidently posing with a glass of Jim Beam bourbon in hand. It feels like a still straight out of a Bond film's press kit.
Sourced and presented by our friends at Ad Patina, it is custom framed in a 13” x 16” solid wood frame with an olive painted finish. It features a custom-measured, hand-cut 4-ply border in a shade of cream, complimenting all the ad tones. Every material used is acid-free and the glass is anti-reflective and offers UV-protection to keep this precious ad preserved no matter where you decide to hang it. Speaking of which, hanging your newly purchased ad is a seamless task, as this particular frame comes with an additional hanging wire and felt pads for wall protection.
You know Mr. Bond means business when he forgoes the Martini and opts for a glass of bourbon.
In this case, the bourbon is Beam, Jim Beam.
