Elgin Chronograph

There’s something irresistible about a great “panda” chronograph—especially when it comes from a storied American name like Elgin. Founded in 1864 as the National Watch Company and renamed a decade later, Elgin helped define U.S. watchmaking for over a century, building everything from wristwatches to military instruments before the brand’s stateside operations wound down in 1968. What followed was a globe-trotting afterlife for the name, but the Ref. 7452 belongs to that last truly interesting chapter, when design, charm, and mechanical integrity were still very much part of the DNA.

This Ref. 7452 is a time capsule: a 42mm stainless-steel chronograph whose case silhouette echoes the Heuer Camaro era, all curves and attitude, preserved with its original finish intact. Inside beats the Valjoux 7736—a no-nonsense, hand-wound workhorse cherished for its reliability and crisp, satisfying pusher feel. The watch also retains its original unsigned crown, pump pushers, and factory-engraved caseback, and comes paired with its original two-piece blue-and-white Elgin strap.

The matte white “panda” dial, signed T Swiss T, is the real showstopper. Black subdials give it that classic motorsport punch, while small red accents add just the right amount of swagger. The tritium plots have aged beautifully to a warm golden tone, and the original hands glow slightly lighter—typical for the reference and wholly part of its charm. Clean, charismatic, and absolutely dripping with period appeal, this Elgin 7452 is the kind of sleeper chronograph that collectors love to discover.

Most of our products are on hand and will ship directly from our headquarters in New York City. In some cases, watches will be shipped directly from one of our authorized partners.

We generally ship our products via FedEx, fully insured, within 5 business days of purchase. An adult signature is required for receipt of all packages for insurance purposes. Expedited shipping is available at an additional cost. We are also happy to hand deliver your purchase in Manhattan or you may pick it up at our showroom.

Returns must be sent overnight or by priority international delivery, fully insured and paid for by the customer. A restocking fee may apply. Watches must be returned in the same condition as initially shipped.
