Why We Love it
Why We Love it–
The perfect summer watch is harder to find than you might think. It should be versatile but simple. It should be colorful, capable of adding just the right amount of pop to a pared-down hot weather get up. It should be stainless and should have the mechanical complexity of a spork (cuz let's face it, when you're relaxing by the pool do you really care what day it is?)
If you know us, you know that we are DOXA fans through and through. But you likely know that most of our attention goes to the chunky dive watches of the 1960s and 1970s that captured our imaginations as young Clive Cussler readers and held it when we learned about the brand's remarkable innovations and it's long historical collaboration with the legendary Jacques Cousteau. In short, the simple time-only watches that the brand produced don't get enough love from us here at analog/shift HQ.
But every once in a while we are reminded that while these watches weren't technologically advanced, they were often colorful and fun, making them pleasant additions to any collection.
This watch is of particular interest to us: Back in the early days of analog/shift, we sold this very watch. Two years later, the watch resurfaced - thousands of miles from where it was originally sold! We don't know how it got there, or how many owners it had in the interim, but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to bring it back into our collection. When it arrived back in NYC, we were overjoyed to see it was in very much the same condition it left our shop the first time - the case free of marks or dings, the dial clean and bright and the original case back sticker still in tact.
Maybe it's a sign? Maybe it's an omen. Whatever it is, it's a cool summer piece deserving of (another) happy home.
Analog:Shift stands behind the authenticity of our products in perpetuity.
Since our pieces are vintage or pre-owned, please expect wear & patina from usage and age. Please read each item description and examine all product images.
We back each Analog:Shift vintage timepiece with a one-year mechanical warranty from the date of purchase.
