Why We Love it
–Few watches have shaped modern collecting quite like the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. When Gérald Genta unveiled its revolutionary octagonal bezel, exposed white gold screws, and integrated bracelet in 1972, the Royal Oak forever changed the notion of what a luxury sports watch could be. More than five decades later, it remains one of the most influential designs in horological history.
Among the countless Royal Oak references produced over the years, the reference we have here is undoubtedly in a league of its own. A Ref. 26585CM.OO.D301VE.01, this brilliant piece brings Audemars Piguet's high horology prowess to the wrist within the geometric icon that is the Royal Oak. A perpetual calendar with openwork dial, this "Cactus Jack" edition is limited to just 200 pieces in beautiful brown ceramic.
A collaboration between Audemars Piguet and Travis Scott's record label "Cactus Juck", this brilliant piece brings the high horology complication to a decidedly sporty and casual package. The result is something truly special. Sporty and rugged, this watch is the confluence of AP's history with high complications and the modern sporty edgy presence that AP occupies.
Rare, technically fascinating, and unlike any other Royal Oak ever made this piece represents a remarkable chapter in Audemars Piguet's history. For collectors seeking something beyond the familiar perpetual calendars and chronographs, it offers the perfect intersection of Gérald Genta's iconic design, unique materia;s, and one of modern watchmaking's most ingenious complications.
Brand Story

Brand Story
+In fact, both Jules Audemars and Edward Piguet came from long lines of watchmakers, and made their reputations long before the Royal Oak was conceived. Their reputations rested on their ability to create incredibly elegant timepieces in numerous styles. While some of these timepieces were simple, elegant dress watches, others were one-off or short-series pieces produced at the rate of a handful per year. (Some years, Audemars Piguet only produced a few hundred watches in total.) Calendar watches, chronographs, minute repeaters — all the delights of haute horlogerie were part and parcel of the AP oeuvre long before the Royal Oak made its debut in 1972.
Technical innovations from AP abound and include the first minute-repeating movement, the first skeleton watch and an ultra-thin automatic tourbillon. Newer collections, such as the Code 11.59 from 2019, see the maison continue to develop new and exciting watches and calibers, the likes of which aren’t based upon tired horological tropes from models past. (Though if vintage reissues are your bag, AP does have a special “Remaster” line — currently consisting of just one model — that reimagines some of its classical, complicated pieces from the mid-20th century.)
