Why We Love it

Why We Love it
–Not every timepiece from the world’s greatest watchmaker fits neatly into the mould of an overarching theme or collection.
While we love a simple Calatrava, an avant-garde Gondolo, or a complicated perpetual calendar as much as the next guy, we find the oddball, limited-production, hand finished watches made by Patek Philippe in the mid-20th century to be some of the most innovative and charming in the brand’s oeuvre. Take this Reference 3571/1, for example.
Dating to the 1970s, this lovely piece features a 26mm x 26mm square 18k white gold case fitted to an integrated 18k textured bracelet with a signed hook and lock clasp, a signed crown, and Patek’s manual-winding Calibre 175 — an ultra-thin work of art from the maison. The showstopper is its incredible silver tone hammered dial that offers more depth and dynamism than a standard matte, gloss, or sunburst offering more commonly seen. The dial is accented by a set of black baton markers at quadrant positions and a matching blackened steel ‘pencil’ handset.
For those in search of something a bit more from your Patek Philippe, try this stunner on for size!
*Due to the design of this bracelet, sizing alterations may require custom work. Lead time after measurements are established is 4-6 weeks.*
