Why We Love it

Why We Love It

That little blue box. That seven letter word: Tiffany.

Those two things are really all you need to elevate a desirable timepiece into stratospheric levels of demand and appreciation in the watch community.

Whether we're talking about vintage Rolex or modern Patek Philippe, there is perhaps no greater multiplier for value than that little signature on the dial. Of course, it is also a minefield for both marketplaces. Vintage pieces commonly have fugazi signatures added by unscrupulous sellers in hopes of increasing the value of an otherwise generic timepiece. And in the modern marketplace, if you're actually lucky enough to obtain a Tiffany-signed Patek, you'd best not ever sell it, because you'll likely be blacklisted and put on perma-ban from ever buying another one new at retail.

So, good luck to the original owner of this beauty - a near mint Calatrava Date Sector Dial Reference 5296G-001 - Their loss is your gain!

Originally sold in 2018 from the Patek Salon at Tiffany & Co New York, this beautiful watch is clad in 18K white gold and features a stunning two-tone white/silver sector dial with blue printed scales and matching blued steel hands. Featuring the Tiffany & Co signature at 6:00, this watch comes complete with its inner and outer boxes, Tiffany box, hangtag, papers, instruction manuals, and Certificate of Origin. A truly complete set.

We're not saying there's such a thing as a "sure thing" in watch collecting, but whether or not there is, if you want this watch half as much as we do, don't hesitate to make a move, it won't last!

The Patek Philippe Story

Patek Philippe.

Founded in 1839, Patek Philippe is one of the oldest watch manufacturers in the world with an uninterrupted watchmaking history. Few luxury brands in the world carry the gravitas of their name, and for good reason.  The firm's commitment to excellence in horological manufacture is unflinching, and their track record of innovation in design without peer.  They continue to lead the industry, and even their fiercest competitors have nothing but the utmost respect for the company.

Owning a Patek Philippe is for many the ultimate goal of timepiece collecting, and for a certain type, the only timepieces they collect. Whichever way you look at it, there is no questioning the elegance of design, superlative manufacture of their cases and movements, or the sheer elegance and emotion that comes from owning one.

Of course for a brand that is steeped in heritage, we are told ‘You never actually own a Patek Philippe…”

Well, you know the rest.
