Angelus Triple-Calendar Moonphase Alarm Clock

Sure, Analog:Shift is a business built around the love of watches — mostly mechanical watches. And that includes the love of clocks in general: pocket watches, travel clocks, and more. 

After all, in the couple-hundred years before the First World War, personal timekeeping was all about the pocket watch, and before that, it was larger clocks that were front and center, horologically. We still believe a good clock — such as a classic travel model from the 1920s or 1930s — has a place in the watch lover’s collection.

This particular timepiece is a vintage triple-calendar moonphase alarm clock from Angelus, a Swiss clock and watchmaker founded in 1891 in Le Locle. Dubbed 'Folioluxe' this model debuted in 1947 to cater to the international travel set, offering a full calendar, moonphase, and alarm clock functionality in a compact, foldable case.

Measuring 4" x 3 1/2" x 1 1/8", its cream-colored, leather-clad housing opens to reveal a silvered dial with an outer 'railroad' minute track with luminous 'dot' indices; a moonphase display below 12 o'clock; date and month apertures in the dial center; a radial date indicator above 6 o'clock; applied gold-tone 'Arabic' indices; and a luminous 'sword' handset with a central alarm indicator hand.

Powered by a hand-wound eight-day movement from Angelus, this piece is in excellent condition for its age, and ready to adorn a desk or shelf in the office of a collector. (Or, to come on the road with an intrepid traveler, ready to replace the smartphone as a smart callback to a simpler time!)

Most of our products are on hand and will ship directly from our headquarters in New York City. In some cases, watches will be shipped directly from one of our authorized partners.

We generally ship our products via FedEx, fully insured, within 5 business days of purchase. An adult signature is required for receipt of all packages for insurance purposes. Expedited shipping is available at an additional cost. We are also happy to hand deliver your purchase in Manhattan or you may pick it up at our showroom.

Returns must be sent overnight or by priority international delivery, fully insured and paid for by the customer. A restocking fee may apply. Watches must be returned in the same condition as initially shipped.
