Why We Love it
–There’s no question that cars and watches go together.
But in the realm of automotive-inspired timepieces, brands often over-do the automotive theme to the point where the entire thing looks, well, gimmicky. There are only a handful of executions that tastefully blend both worlds. Less is more, after all.
As is such with the Girard-Perregaux Chronograph 'Ecurie Francorchamps.' A limited edition from the early 2000s, it celebrates the 50th anniversary of Écurie Francorchamps, the Belgian racing team founded by Jacques Swaters that competed multiple times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Housed in a 38mm stainless steel case with pump pushers, a fluted signed crown, a stepped bezel, and an engraved commemorative caseback, it features a decidedly 1940s-influenced white dial with an outer tachymeter scale, applied 'Arabic' indices, a triple-register chronograph, a 4:30 date window, and a silver 'feuille' handset.
Powered by the Girard-Perregaux Calibre 3370 movement — an ETA base movement with a Dubois-Dépraz chronograph module — it comes paired to a brown leather strap with tone-on-tone stop stitching and a signed stainless steel pin buckle. Limited to 100 pieces, it also features its inner and outer box, pamphlets, and an extra strap.
If this handsome piece doesn't make you want to fire up your vintage Jaguar C-type — we don't know what will!
Brand Story

Brand Story
+From the start, Girard-Perregaux balanced aesthetics with engineering ambition. In the 19th century, Constant Girard’s Three Gold Bridges tourbillon transformed movement architecture into visual theater — not just a technical solution, but a design language. That instinct to elevate mechanics into art would define the house.
By the early 20th century, GP was producing wristwatches at a time when pocket watches still dominated, positioning itself ahead of shifting tastes. Decades later, in 1966, the brand unveiled one of the first high-frequency movements beating at 36,000 vibrations per hour — a meaningful leap in chronometric performance. And in 1971, Girard-Perregaux developed one of the earliest Swiss quartz calibers, helping establish the 32,768 Hz frequency that remains the global standard today.
Yet for all its technical milestones, GP’s enduring appeal lies in its balance: refinement without flash, innovation without noise. Two centuries on, the bridges still remain. Art and mechanics, past and present, precision and beauty.
