Why We Love it
–Patek’s Travel Time chronograph lineage is already one of the most compelling modern families in the catalog, and the Ref. 5924G-010 represents its most extroverted evolution to date. For collectors who follow Patek’s complication DNA, this watch is essentially a hybrid of two pillars — the CH 28-520 chronograph architecture and the dual-timezone system first perfected on the 5164A Aquanaut Travel Time. The result: a flyback chrono with a friction-clutch central seconds, paired with a jumping local-hour hand and independent home-time display, all synced to a date tied to local time.
It’s peak Patek logic — elegant, bulletproof, and addictive in daily use.
What makes the 5924G especially interesting is the aesthetic choice. Patek has been slow and deliberate with its “Pilot” line since 2015, and this khaki-lacquered dial is the most character-driven version yet. The applied white-gold numerals, the skeletonized home-time hand, and the twin day/night apertures lean into true tool-watch legibility, but the 42mm white-gold case and olive calf strap keep it squarely in High Horology territory.
It’s that tension — instrument vs. aristocrat — that collectors respond to.
Through the sapphire back, the CH 28-520 C FUS checks every Patek box: 21k rotor, Spiromax spring, Gyromax balance, 4 Hz beat, and the Patek Seal. At 370 components, it’s a flex of modern industrial haute horlogerie — not nostalgic, not artisanal-romantic, but exacting and modern. It is seriously NEXT LEVEL. It also comes with boxes, papers, tags, and corrector push pin.
For Patek collectors who appreciate when the brand breaks character, this is the reference that makes the pilot line truly collectible — not a novelty, but a serious complication watch with contemporary attitude. Let's jet!
