Why We Love it

There’s no question that cars and watches go together.

But in the realm of automotive-inspired watches, brands often over-do the automotive theme to the point where the entire thing looks, well, gimmicky. There are only a handful of executions that tastefully blend both worlds. Less is more, after all.

As is such with this particular Girard-Perregaux Aston Martin Laureato. The partnership between the two storied brands began back in 2021 and was brought to new heights with the release of GP’s integrated sports watch adorned in British Racing Green.

However, it’s not a steel integrated sports watch, but a ceramic integrated sports watch. The entire watch including the case and bracelet is comprised of a particular ceramic made from zirconium and metallic oxides in a blend that allows for the various stain and polish finishes we see here. The 42mm green ceramic case features a satin finished octagonal bezel, a signed screw down crown and a sapphire crystal.

The dial is green as well, but it’s the sunburst finish and the 'webbing' pattern synonymous with the grill of a sports car that brings it to life. The textured dial also features an outer luminous minute track and a matching 'skeletonized' luminous handset. The entire rig comes fitted to an integrated ceramic bracelet with a signed double fold-over clasp and houses the GP Calibre GP03300-2166 automatic winding movement.

In a watch world filled with integrated sports watches, this GP Aston Martin Laureato stands out among the pack.

Don’t let this one slip through your fingers!

Brand Story

+
Few manufactures can trace their lineage as far back, or as credibly, as Girard-Perregaux. Founded in 1791, the brand stands among the true old guard of Swiss watchmaking, a maison that has quietly shaped the evolution of the wristwatch for more than two centuries.

From the start, Girard-Perregaux balanced aesthetics with engineering ambition. In the 19th century, Constant Girard’s Three Gold Bridges tourbillon transformed movement architecture into visual theater — not just a technical solution, but a design language. That instinct to elevate mechanics into art would define the house.

By the early 20th century, GP was producing wristwatches at a time when pocket watches still dominated, positioning itself ahead of shifting tastes. Decades later, in 1966, the brand unveiled one of the first high-frequency movements beating at 36,000 vibrations per hour — a meaningful leap in chronometric performance. And in 1971, Girard-Perregaux developed one of the earliest Swiss quartz calibers, helping establish the 32,768 Hz frequency that remains the global standard today.

Yet for all its technical milestones, GP’s enduring appeal lies in its balance: refinement without flash, innovation without noise. Two centuries on, the bridges still remain. Art and mechanics, past and present, precision and beauty.
