Details

Analog:Shift is largely a purveyor of vintage and pre-owned wristwatches. However, when we have the opportunity to offer a truly stunning pocket watch, we can’t possibly pass it up.

Patek Philippe has, of course, largely moved away from pocket watch production. However, the maison does keep at least one reference in its catalog at any given time. Beautifully crafted and featuring highly accurate, hand-wound movements, they’re vestiges of a time long past, but whose echoes can still be discerned in the excellence of a simple Patek Philippe dress watch.

This particular Patek Philippe pocket watch is a Reference 701/1 from circa 1949. Housed in a rose gold case with a polished bezel, and a beautiful petite recessed crown, it features a multi-tone dial with painted black railroad minute track, applique rose gold indexes, a matching ‘pencil’ handset, and a sub-seconds display above 6 o’clock. Powering this handsome timepiece is the hand-wound Patek Philippe Calibre 17 210, while accompanying it is its extract from the archives and an original ad showing the piece.

Whether you intend to carry it day-to-day or simply park it on your desk on a stand, this beautiful watch will surely bring a smile to your face each time you wind it and hear it ticking away.

Brand Story

+
Patek Philippe.

Founded in 1839, Patek Philippe is one of the oldest watch manufacturers in the world with an uninterrupted watchmaking history. Few luxury brands in the world carry the gravitas of their name, and for good reason. The firm's commitment to excellence in horological manufacture is unflinching, and their track record of innovation in design without peer. They continue to lead the industry, and even their fiercest competitors have nothing but the utmost respect for the company.

Owning a Patek Philippe is for many the ultimate goal of timepiece collecting, and for a certain type, the only timepieces they collect. Whichever way you look at it, there is no questioning the elegance of design, superlative manufacture of their cases and movements, or the sheer elegance and emotion that comes from owning one.

Of course for a brand that is steeped in heritage, we are told ‘You never actually own a Patek Philippe…”

Well, you know the rest.
