Details

Sure, Analog:Shift is a business built around the love of watches — mostly mechanical watches.

But, in essence, it’s our love for timepieces and timekeeping in general that are the common themes throughout the items we procure. And that includes the love of clocks in general — pocket watches, travel clocks and more.

After all, in the couple hundred years before the First World War, personal timekeeping was all about the pocket watch, and before that, it was larger clocks that were front and center, horologically. We still believe a good clock — especially one that hails from the best design maison — deserves a place in any watch lover’s collection.

This particular piece, a pocket watch from Movado dating to the 1940s, is a genuine piece of horological history. Housed in a 45mm stainless steel case with an unsigned crown and an acrylic crystal, it features a handsome Breguet hand dial with an outer applied minute track topped with a beautiful set of blued hands. At six o'clock is a gorgeous subsidiary seconds dial with an inner railroad second track.

Powered by a hand-wound Movado 15-jewel movement, this lovely vestige of mid century watchmaking is still keeping excellent time decades after its creation. With its beautiful dial and refined design, it remains in beautiful patinaed condition.
