Introduced in 1961, the E-Type became almost instantly famous for its impossibly long hood, tiny cabin, covered headlamps, and beautifully tapered tail. Enzo Ferrari is famously said to have called it “the most beautiful car ever made,” and whether or not he actually said it, the sentiment has certainly stuck. More than six decades later, the E-Type remains one of the defining shapes of postwar automotive design.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eProduced during the 1990s or early 2000s, this sculpture was created using one of Compulsion Gallery’s signature techniques. Rather than being cast from solid metal, a high-density resin core was thermal-plated in lead-free pewter, then hand-polished and lacquered. The process gives the piece a satisfyingly substantial weight and a cool, metallic feel while nicely capturing the E-Type’s distinctive details, from its long, sculpted bonnet and oval grille to its fastback roofline and delicate bumpers.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eCompulsion Gallery specialized in Star Wars (!) figures, automotive and sporting sculptures before eventually disappearing, and its pieces have since developed a following among petrolheads and automobilia collectors.
