Sure, Analog:Shift is a business built around the love of watches — mostly mechanical watches. 

But, in essence, it’s our love for timepieces and timekeeping in general that are the common themes throughout the items we procure. And that includes the love of clocks in general — pocket watches, travel clocks and more. 

After all, in the couple hundred years before the First World War, personal timekeeping was all about the pocket watch, and before that, it was larger clocks that were front and center, horologically. We still believe a good clock — especially one that hails from the best design maison — deserves a place in any watch lover’s collection.

This particular piece, a pocket watch from Gruen, is a genuine piece of American horological history. Housed in a 46mm base metal open-face case with an unsigned crown, a bow at 12 o'clock, and an acrylic crystal, it features a handsome multi-tone dial with an outer black hour track with Arabic indices in silver; a railroad minute track; an inner silver section; and a large subsidiary seconds register above 12 o'clock. Fitted with a set of steel leaf hands, it's finished with the Gruen wordmark in a lovely Art Deco typeface.

Powered by a hand-wound Gruen Calibre 795 15-jewel movement and paired to a stainless steel watch fob, this lovely vestige of American watchmaking is still keeping perfect time well over eight decades since its creation. With its "bullseye" dial and cool industrial design, it looks just as fresh today as it would have in the late 1930s.

All of our watches include complementary insured shipping within the 50 states.

Most of our products are on hand and will ship directly from our headquarters in New York City. In some cases, watches will be shipped directly from one of our authorized partners.

We generally ship our products via FedEx, fully insured, within 5 business days of purchase. An adult signature is required for receipt of all packages for insurance purposes. Expedited shipping is available at an additional cost. We are also happy to hand deliver your purchase in Manhattan or you may pick it up at our showroom.

Returns must be sent overnight or by priority international delivery, fully insured and paid for by the customer. A restocking fee may apply. Watches must be returned in the same condition as initially shipped.
