The man's oeuvre encompasses such horological heavy-hitters as the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, or the Universal Genève Polerouter, or the Patek Philippe Nautilus, or… well, we could go on, but the fact is, when it comes to watches, the man is a legend. Full stop.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eBut what happens when a legend grows weary of creating the very thing that gave him success?\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eHe designs something else, of course--and in Genta’s case, that something else happened to be eyeglasses. From the late 1970s to the early 1980s, Genta--in partnership with Orama--released a line of glasses in the Japanese market under his own name. With frames of precious metal, they typify 1970s Disco chic as well as Genta’s own wry style.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eThe glasses that we offer here are in New Old Stock condition, never worn, and are the answer to the tacit question: “What if you could wear the Royal Oak Reference \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/shop.analogshift.com\/collections\/watches\/products\/audemars-piguet-royal-oak-5402-ba-18k-jumbo\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Reference 5402 BA\"\u003e5402 BA\u003c\/a\u003e \u003cem\u003eon your face\u003c\/em\u003e?\" The design language of the Royal Oak is echoed here in subtle touches like the notches on the top of the frames, reminiscent of the exposed rivets of the Royal Oak. Yet Genta doesn't stray too far from 1970s design convention--this was, after all, when the popularity of aviator-style frames started to surge, with double-bridged versions like these being particularly desirable. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eAll in all, they're the perfect complement to the Royal Oak. Quite understandably, Genta fanatics go crazy for them.
