Its tubular spaceframe necessitated those now-famous roof-hinged “Gullwing” doors, while its fuel-injected straight-six made it seriously quick for the period. Today, the combination of engineering, racing pedigree, and that extraordinary shape has made the 300 SL one of the most coveted postwar automobiles.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe sculpture captures plenty of the details that make the real thing so recognizable: the long hood, compact greenhouse, prominent three-pointed star, distinctive side vents, and beautifully rounded bodywork. Produced during the 1990s or early 2000s, it uses Compulsion Gallery’s signature construction, with a high-density resin core thermal-plated in lead-free pewter before being hand-polished and lacquered.
